Croxley Hall Carp Syndicate

NOW OPEN
About: Croxley Hall Carp Syndicate is professionally run carp fishing syndicate located on a private estate at Croxley Hall Fisheries, near Rickmansworth in Hertfordshire. Members of Croxley Hall Carp Syndicate enjoy exclusive carp fishing on Croxley Lake, a mature eight acre gravel pit which was dug over forty years ago and still contains some of the original mirror carp. Approximately one hundred and fifty carp are present, the majority being "Croxley" commons weighing over thirty five pounds . They were stocked in 1996 at an average weight of two pounds. In 2004 a further twenty "Leney" carp were stocked around seven pounds in weight, these fish now weigh thirty pounds plus and are mostly mirrors. In 2007 a further thirty three mirror carp from the "Dinton Pastures" strain were stocked, some of these fish are now breaking records and could potentially outgrow everything in these rich lakes. During the summer months multiple catches are quite common. Most of our members have experienced their personal best catches whilst fishing at Croxley Hall Fisheries. The growth rates of the carp are monitored closely in the best interests of the fishery using a unique system which provides extremely accurate records for our members to view.

Thorney Weir

NOW OPEN
About: Ever had a secret that you were dying to tell, but couldn’t? Imagine bursting at the seams for a year, just holding it in. Well here it is… When I was a kid 30 odd years ago, my dad would take me to fish lakes and rivers known as Thorney Weir. We loved the place, three lakes, a mile and a quarter of the River Colne, plus the Colnbrook River, in around 78 acres of Buckinghamshire countryside. Carp, tench and bream in the lakes, and assorted bags of carp, chub, roach, bream, barbel and dace on the rivers – always a treat on Sundays. It became my favourite place. I’d spend all my time after school there, day in day out. Imagine how I felt, and I’m sure everyone else when I found out that the lease had been given to the Met Police and that day tickets were no longer available. The Met Lakes, as the fishery became known, were inaccessible to the public for over 30 years! On inspection Lake 2 had become completely overgrown totally inaccessible and most swims on all three lakes were overgrown and in need of repair. We knew that making this area clean again would be a major undertaking. Considering the potential of Thorney Weir, however, it was worth the eight months of hard work everyone put in to take it back on to the road to recovery.

Stanford Hall Fishery

NOW OPEN
About: The day ticket venue is a small, intimate water of 1.75 acres surrounded by mature trees. The lake holds around 80 decent sized carp from mid doubles up to low thirties, plus a few smaller fish that have day-ticket-fully-scaledsurvived from fry. We’ve managed to stock carp with a variety of scale patterns to add the the stock of originals. Early indications look good with all the stockies putting on decent weight in the spring fed water.

South Ings - Embryo Lakes

NOW OPEN
About: South Ings Lane was Embryo’s first fishery to open in late 2014. Originally formed of 3 lakes, deep and clear the lakes proved to be a fantastic water for the freshly stocked carp to thrive in. Later on the first two lakes were knocked through to create a larger lake and start the transformation of these virgin pits. Fully fenced from the outset to protect the new fish from predation. The stocking of fish occurred over the first year with fish from; VS Fisheries, Heather Fisheries and our Lea Valley supplier with fish ranging between 8-29lb. These fish flourished in the gin clear water with the fish growing well, some fish that went in at 14lb have now gone to 30lb+. With growth rates like this the future is destined to be bright! The deep water lends itself to zig and surface fishing in the spring, however come the summer/autumn the fish are readily caught from the bottom in both the shallower margins and the deeper open water spots. The syndicate is in high demand and currently (along with the waiting list) full.

Cables Lake - Embryo Lakes

NOW OPEN
About: Hidden alongside the Thames and situated next door to the beautiful Phil’s Lake is our Cables Lake. Cables laid dormant until Embryo took it over in 2017, from here it was carefully fenced and swims created, late into 2017 the lake received a stocking of handpicked carp. With a handful of originals (8-10 size unknown) we supplemented this low stock with an additional 65 carp to create a low stocked water with the future in mind. Since stocking the carp have darkened off in the gin-clear, weedy water and shown great growth potential. The lake has many features; plateaus, gravel margins and expansive marginal roadbeds. With the carp stocked up to 31lb and the subsequent growth rates it won’t be long before we see more carp becoming targets. The Syndicate is now full on the lake, but there are still limited spaces available on the waiting list, so get in touch below to get your name down.

Medway Valley Fisheries: Larkfield Complex

NOW OPEN
About: The Larkfield Complex ticket is made up of 4 lakes - Larky 2, The Railway, The Ocean and The Road & Island lake. All the lakes with The Railway being the only exception, have Carp in the upper 40lb’s and a good head of 30lb and 20lb pound fish along with big Tench. All lakes have double figure Tench and the current record is 14lb 12oz. Bream to double figures are regular and Roach, Rudd and Pike are present in all waters but are hardly fished for. The Railway has a low stocking density of around 25 to 30 Carp but all of these waters are very historical, as are the fish that reside in them. We took control of these waters in 2014 and they were in a bad state of disrepair. We are ongoing with our commitment in giving the complex a much need make-over and keeping everything as mother nature intended, ultimately restoring these waters back to their former glory. New roads and tracks are all currently works in progress, as is the work being undertaken on the swims. We would ask that all members bear with us whilst the remedial work continues and we thank you in advance for your patience.
